From 1975 - 2004, I taught a course on Information Sources and Services -- first at the University of Illinois and then at the University of South Carolina. We talked about the sources and search strategies for using then, but we also talked about the subject matter of the various disciplines. The disciplines (some, arguably, overlap with the social sciences and/or the sciences) included: philosophy, language/linguistics, mythology/folklore, religion, visual arts, performing arts, and literature. The blog is a place where we -- librarians or not -- can talk about library resources, but I'm especially interested in providing a forum for sharing ideas on any or all of the disciplines.
